That Really Tropey Undercover Mission: Fake Marriage
Hizashi doesn't have a problem with flying. It's not his favorite mode of travel - he much prefers driving, if he has the option - but it's something he can easily handle without issue. At least that's what he thought, having flown in larger, major route planes more than once in the past. What he hadn't experienced is the small, impossibly cramped private planes for smaller trips or trips out to more remote locations. Locations, unfortunately, that were like the small island community off the mainland that he and Shouta were currently assigned to. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that the trip and method of travel occupied his every sense because it gave him a lot less time to roll their assignment and fake details around in his head too much. There was no room for him to overthink or worry about how to uphold the image of being married to his best friend without making it weird, or getting too many of his own personal and private feelings mixed up uselessly within.
Nothing had gone wrong with the flight, of course, but that didn't mean Hizashi didn't look a little green even as both of his feet were planted solidly on the ground once again. He slowly improved as they walked through the small airport with their luggage, and the trip to their assigned hotel gave him a moment to lean back in a seat with fresh air blowing in his face. By the time they were both unloading their luggage and paying their cab fare, Hizashi was mostly back to his normal color, if the way he was carrying a conversation with the cabbie was any indication.
Now, as they stand in line to get their room, Hizashi finds himself toying with the silver and gold band around his left ring finger, the fingers of his other hand turning it around and around as his green eyes take in the features of the lobby they are currently standing in. There isn't anything particularly remarkable about it, but considering the reason they're here, it's more an effort to be aware than it is one out of boredom or curiosity. Besides the front door, he notices a second exit, and of course a door that likely leads to the offices of the hotel. He exhales a hum to himself before letting his gaze flick over to Shouta, who he assumes is still standing next to him. They've still got a couple of people ahead of them in the check-in line, anyway.
"There's a back exit, past the elevators," Hizashi mumbles this into Shouta's ear, disguising it easily with the way he also throws an arm around the other man's shoulders in a seemingly intimate gesture. No one would second guess a pair of newlyweds to be sharing quiet conversations between the two of them. It helped, too, that Hizashi has no real concept of personal space when it comes to Shouta, making the illusion extra easy. He keeps his arm around Shouta afterward, his hand coming to rest on Shouta's opposite upper arm. When another couple in the lobby glance over out of curiosity, he offers a grin and a small wave, resting his chin on Shouta's shoulder.
Maybe this act wouldn't be so bad or hard after all.
