CHARACTER
» Name: Tokino
» Fandom: Lamento
» Reference: Sapphirus ; Game FAQs ; Characters ; Youtube videos with information: from 00:00-00:40 and from 02:56-3:16
» Canon Point: Beginning of the game, after he and Konoe split up for the night.
» Gender: Male
» Age: He looks young, but not too young; presumably around 18-19?
» Orientation: Unknown; he gives no indication as to which gender he prefers. Even if females are rare in his world, that doesn't automatically make him gay, since they can still love women too; as such, he's unknown but definitely open to experimentation?
» Personality: He is your typical best friend type archetype: kind, loyal, and caring, and the best part is, it's not the nitro+CHiRAL archetype! He has no urges to devour, maim, or in any way hurt Konoe, which is an excellent change from their games. However, he's also not The Best Friend, which means he doesn't have a path of his own and is instead a more minor character. He can mostly be found in a pleasant mood, smiling and cheery and kind to just anyone. He seems somewhat naive for it, but it's endearing, almost sweet.

Being that he's a merchant cat, he has to be prompt, honest, if not a little wary. He has to be, after all, so as not to get attacked while selling his wares and in order not to let down any of his customers. He's not a very violent person, being that the territorial instinct in the cats at Ransen had diminished somewhat. He's surprised and worried at hearing that Konoe had been in a territorial fight, but still trusts and believes in him to take care of himself. He does have a good sense of humor, though, teasing Konoe by saying that it'd be okay if he was injured since he had medicine and such to heal him with.

Since his mother died in giving birth to him, it's safe to say that he has a good sense of filial piety: he helps his father and doesn't mind making the long treks around the country in order to sell their wares. He has a strong sense of duty, since some people may depend on his deliveries, and seems to be reluctant to accept help: he's somewhat embarrassed and ashamed when Konoe lifts his basket for him, but eventually accepts it. He likes to be helpful, willing and able to help where he can, and he seems to exude a welcoming aura. Tokino means no harm to anyone or anything, a kind-hearted cat who just wants to live a peaceful life.

» Appearance: He's tall, adorable, and ever so cuddle-able. Yeah, I just made that word up. Tokino has bright orange hair, orange ears, and an orange tail, with blue eyes and the cutest smile around. He's slim but strong from having to help his father deliver packages to cats all over the continent and isn't easily tired out, though it does happen, especially when making the trip from Ransen (his hometown) to Karou (where Konoe lives). His clothes are usually of a black and green color scheme with some red-orange details.

[ the device clatters to the ground, and there's a quiet moment where a young man is getting dressed. not addressing any viewers, just putting his clothes on and looking around curiously. and he turns, and-- wait a second. is that a tail? and ears? why is he sitting down and--

and he closes his eyes, tongue out and quiet as he grooms himself. the feed times out after a few moments. ]

[ and then clicks back on a flash of video focused on two nice boobies before switching to audio, and there are two voices, one female, one male. ]

--like this?

Yes, like that, sir.

Wow. Real--

[ it clicks off again, and then back on once more a few minutes later. this time, he's alone, looking directly into it, a sheepish smile as he speaks ]

I guess I'm supposed to do it like this? The..maid explained some stuff to me, but I don't think I understood most of it.. Can anyone really see this? I'm looking for a way to get back to Ransen... I'm supposed to meet up with someone soon, I've gotta get back. There has to be a way, right? I'd really appreciate it.

[ a pause before a bright smile ]

Thanks.

The first thing he noticed was the way the sheets felt against his skin, soft and silky and impossibly comfortable. He didn't want to get up, eyes fighting to stay closed and trying to return to the dream he'd been having. He could barely remember it, just how warm he'd been, how nice it'd felt. But no, no, father needed his help, needed him to go about his deliveries today, as usual. And besides, he was supposed to head to Karou, right? He'd be going to see Konoe! So it wasn't all bad.

...Konoe?

Tokino's eyes went wide, a flush spreading across his cheeks as his dream came flooding back, burrowing under the covers to hide his embarrassment. Heat and movement, a familiar tail with a crook at the crook near the end-- How was he even supposed to look at Konoe after something like that? But there was no way to avoid it, was there? The other Ribika in the village needed his supplies, too, and the thought of a lone cat waiting by the gates was just too sad. He just couldn't leave him like that, could he?

The answer was obvious, and he sighed just a little as he threw back the covers, sat up and stretched. Ran a hand through his hair, his ears popping up and flicking just a little as he yawned. And his eyes went wide. Wait, this wasn't...where he fell asleep, where was the shop? Where was his father? Quick to get up, that blush returning at seeing his state of undress, and Tokino grabbed for his clothes, frowning as something clattered to the ground, tumbling out of his clothes. Strange, but he sat down to start cleaning himself. Weird bed, new place... He didn't want to be covered in any germs, and who knew what was waiting outside this room? Grooming himself seemed to be the best choice for now, until he could get to a real bath.

He looked up at a knock at the door, eyes wide. Who... Wishing he had something to protect himself with, and he hoped the relief wasn't visible when it turned out to be a woman with linens. Maybe she could help, and he gave her a smile. "Excuse me, miss...?"

And he paused. She... She didn't have ears! Or a tail? Like a "human"... Tokino was quiet, attentive as she picked up the box from before and showed him how to use it, explained what was going on. Admittedly, a little distracted, wondering how she came to look like that. But he got the gist of it, his fingers running along the collar at his neck. This was strange, too strange, like something out of a myth-- briefly, he wondered if this "Atia" (that was her name, right? that was what the maid had said...) knew Ribika, but that wasn't really what was important here, was it? He needed to get home to his father, his duties, his friend. A quiet breath, trying to remember what the woman had told him as he turned on the..device again, somewhat sheepish as he laughed.

"I guess I'm supposed to do it like this?"
