[ original: lor + bells; closed post ]
[ based off of this meme, in the section for "old friends", prompt 2: A friend in need is a friend indeed. Hey man, my car broke down. Also, I might have to come stay with you a while because my significant other kicked me out... One of you is in a pickle! Time to test how far this friendship can go. ]
So, let me get this straight. [ Lor frowned as he tossed Bells a pillow. Half of him wished he would have given him better warning, but hey, sometimes things in life just happened. ] Cole kicked you out? Of your apartment?
[ It was a ridiculous notion. How did something like that even happen? Bells had been the one to invite Cole to stay with him in the first place. And the bigger question - what had Bells done to get kicked out?
Maybe it wasn't a good idea to ask. Relationship stuff was always tricky, and Lor wasn't sure how things worked between the two of them. He picked up a blanket, sniffed at it to make sure it was clean (when was the last time he'd done laundry? he couldn't remember) before handing that to him, too. ]
Make yourself comfortable. At least until you guys patch things up. Okay?

He never believes me when I tell him I'm sorry. [ Probably because, most of the time, he didn't mean it. ] And I'm sure he's just loving the fact I came to stay with you. I don't get why he doesn't like you. You're not that much of an asshole.
[ Bells tried to sound amused, teasing, but it came off rather dry and disheartened. He lifted his hand to rub at his face. ]
I really fucked up this time, Lor.

Of course he doesn't believe you. You're an unrepentant dick. [ Because that's what best friends do: call each other names. He shrugged slightly, looking around and wishing he didn't really have to address it. ] Your guess is as good as mine, man. Are you sure you aren't making it worse?
[ It's supposed to come out as a tease, but it doesn't really sound like it, and Lor winces. Glad Bells can't see it, though. ] Well, that's the good part about being in a relationship. You find out how you messed up, and if you really want to keep that relationship, you fix it or work out a compromise.
[ Maybe it wasn't really his place to talk about this. He hadn't been in a relationship since— for a very long time. ]
Do you know what you did?
[ Still, from what he'd learned of Bells in the time he'd known him, it seemed that he was...pretty stupid with relationships. If he could help, he wanted to. ]

Uh, yes and no? I dunno, Lor. He was saying something about me seeing someone else, and then we were fighting. [ He bit at his lip, moving his hand so he could pinch at the bridge of his nose. ] The messed up thing is—he's the only one I'm fucking. So, I don't know where he's coming up with this shit.
[ Saying it aloud actually sounded stupid, but he couldn't bring himself to care. Bells sighed and fell back into the couch. ]
What am I supposed to do? I'm not gonna go back there and beg him to take me back when I didn't do anything in the first place.

Did you happen to ask why he thought you were cheating on him?
[ Damn it. He'd told himself he wasn't going to get involved. (Sort of.) And now here he was, trying to give relationship advice. It wasn't too late to back out, was it?
Then again, he'd probably be the dick for backing out. ]
It sounds to me like he's being insecure at you. Or you need to stop checking other people out. Either way, the only solution I can think of is to first: take away his pistols. And second: talk to him and find out why he feels like that.
[ He sat back on the couch next to him, punching where he hoped Bells's shoulder would be. ] You're not gonna stay on my couch forever, y'know.

[ He paused, thinking it over. ]
Are you sure that'd fix the problem? 'Cause I'll be pissed if he slams the door in my face again. Besides. [ And the tease rolled off his tongue without a second thought. ] When did you become such an expert on this stuff, huh?
